Block Class

I have seen these blocks so many times and excited I finished my own.  As soon as I work out the details, I'll be holding a class.  Let me know if you are interested in attending the class.

So, no further delay :)  Here are the blocks

Let me know what you think.
Thanks Vicky

Oh yeah and I don't think I will be able to post Saturday or Sunday as we are heading to the lake.  We haven't been out there for almost a month and we've been told the grass is almost a foot high.

Have a great weekend!

Card Kit Shower

I have joined a Card Kit Shower Swap on Splitcoast.  You can find the swap here There are 12 participants per group.  Everyone is assigned a month during the year.  Every month the participants send a card kit to the person assigned to that month.  It quite fun because the person of the month gets "Showered" with kits from 11 people.  Well, this month is my month and I would like to make a card from every package as soon as I can.

So here is the first kit:

and this are the cards that I made

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Tip Tuesday (Late)

I wanted to post this tip yesterday but with the power outage, it didn't happen so here it is:

Tip Tuesday

This is what you get with unmounted stamp sets

before you start cutting your sticky images for assembly
photocopy the page

its a quick and easy index of set
so if you misplace a block
you have a great way of finding its home

Sorry for the dark pictures.   That'll be a work in progress just like my blog.  lol

Hope you had a great Wednesday and now I need to get to bed.
Chat at you tomorrow!

CAS79 - Gardens from Splitcoast

Hi All
I had such a good day yesterday until time to write my post.  I cleaned the kitchen from the weekend, which is always a disaster on Monday's.  I completed the Clean & Simple challenge on Splitcoaststampers which you can find here.  I walked 5 km's to the Sew Divine there and back.  If your in the Edmonton area and like fabrics, you should check it out.  Let the kiddies play in the backyard and made supper.  put the kiddies to bed and then helped hubby tile the basement bathroom.  We were on the last 3 tiles when the power went out.  Of course we were working on the only room in the house without a window LOL.  The power came on for about 10 minutes and then went out again.  I was so disappointed that I wasn't able to post daily.  Oh well, I guess there will just be 2 today. :)

So onto the card.....

Here was my first thoughts

Then I actually read the words on the inchies
I didn't think that Happy Birthday went with it.

But what if your friend has been on your mind a lot and its her bithday
it could work but not on same page

it was too simple for me with the three inchies
i pulled out a texure plate for the white

but i really wanted to add some Pear Pizzazz paper
and border punches layer nicely
so i added a scallop border to bottom

and I try to recycle almost everything
even the little holes punched out with the eyelet border

my finished front

and inside

Hope you enjoyed the extra pictures and thoughts.  Have a great day!

Scrappy Sunday - Faux Bargello

So I thought that I would have a Scrappy Sunday.  My challenge to myself was to use scraps as much as possible to create my card.  I also wanted to recreate a techinique that I have come across in the last few weeks during my blog hopping - Faux Bargello.  I love to quilt and right now its a real toss up what I get to work on while kiddies are napping - Quilting or Card Making.  So today I kinda combined the two.
I knew that I had lots of scrap DSP on my floor beside my desk and was pretty sure that I had strips.  And I did :).  So here is my card.

Please play along with me and show us what you had in your stash!

First Blog Challenge!

Hey All
I've been wanting to create a blog for months now.  I've been to scared to do it.  Last night the last thing on My To Do list was go through emails.  And as I was doing that, I got a new email from Stamping 411 with the Friday's Sketch Challenge.  So I thought:  Why Not!.  I finished the card last night.  I decided the card would be a great way of starting my blog.  So here I am, trying to figure out the ins and outs of blogging.

Check out Stamping 411's Saturday-sketch-challenge-163 and here is my card.

Let me know what you think
Have a great day.
